New School In Square One Under Construction

Construction for a new elementary school in Square One (Elm Drive Public School) is underway between Elm Dr W, Kariya Dr and Central Parkway near the Edge Condos, 3515 + 3525 Kariya Dr and 3672 Kariya Dr. The school will provide education from Kindergarden to Grade 8 within a two storey structure. The interesting site change is how the new Square One school is being organized in terms of construction siteplan.

The current site contains a dated, existing Adult School structure towards the North end of the site and an open field to the South side along Central Parkway Mississauga. The new school at Square One will have a more logical and beneficial layout. The green space and field is being moved to the North of the property with the existing structure to be demolished. This will provide more green space for the neighbouring buildings and downtown Mississauga homes for sale. The new school at Square One will be located along Central Parkway which will keep the higher traffic flor towards a central street as opposed to the smaller Elm Dr W and Kariya Dr. There are plans to further extend Kariya Dr to Central Parkway to form a more grid type layout that’s popular with urban core planning. The new school at Square One will offer a modern and convenient educational facility with close proximity to the Hurontario LRT and Square One condos area.
